
Anna Lee "Beb" Champagne Switzer, 93, passed away at her residence at St. James Place on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. A native of Baton Rouge, Beb was born to Lucille Ledet and Lionel Alfred Champagne on May 21, 1919. She was a graduate of University High and LSU, teacher, homemaker and volunteer at the St. Joseph Spirituality Center. She also enjoyed cooking, literature, history, and genealogical research. Her husband, Albert "Buddy" Switzer, preceded her in death in 1982. Beb is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Ann and William C. "Bill" Monroe of Baton Rouge; Janet and Charles Ray "Chuck" Ferguson of Poteau, Oklahoma; Joanie and Charles Hereford Percy of Arvada, Colorado; and Elaine and Clark Douglas East of Clearwater, Florida; and a son and daughter-in-law, John Keith and Colleen Connolly Switzer of Metairie. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, Wm. Todd Monroe and wife Jessica Woodman Monroe of Baton Rouge; Kristen Monroe Balhoff and husband James Patrick Balhoff of Baton Rouge; Charles David "Chuck" Magill of Houston, Texas; Darby Magill Sager and husband Brian Michel Sager of Menlo Park, California; Daniel Albert Magill and wife Melissa Davis Magill of Houston, Texas; Debra Carmen Magill of Palm Harbor, Florida; Robert Ryland Percy and wife Tara Tompkins Percy of Englewood, Colorado; Melanie Ann Percy and husband Nicholas John Broadbent of Sydney, Australia; Megan Claire Percy of Boulder, Colorado; Jamie East Billig and husband James Franklin Billig of Tampa, Florida; Jonathan Clark East of Clearwater, Florida; Brendan Scott East of Clearwater, Florida; Lauren Elise Switzer of Baton Rouge; Caitlin Louise Switzer of Baton Rouge; and Analie Clare Switzer of Metairie; and ten great-grandchildren, Emma Caroline and William Woodman Monroe; Patrick Todd Balhoff; Nikolas David and Alexander William Magill; Aiden Rory and Brennan Patrick Sager; Delaney Grace Magill; James Patrick "Jack" and Taylor Clark Billig. Also surviving her are sister Marie "Sis" Champagne Bowers, brother Robert C. "Bo" Champagne, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings Lionel Joseph "L.J." Champagne, Sidney Alfred Champagne, Edwin Charles "Brother" Champagne, Lillian Champagne Schaefer, and Sister Lydia Champagne, S.J. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 25, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Avenue, followed by funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Special appreciation to devoted caregivers of St. James Place and Hospice of Baton Rouge.
