
Anne Julian Strahan, a resident of Maurepas and a former resident of Baton Rouge, died unexpectedly Monday, March 8, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. She was 75 and a native of Chicago. She is survived by her husband, Will Strahan; daughter, Kelly Anne Stephenson and husband Andy, of Maurepas; son, Kenneth J. Elder, of Baton Rouge; brother, David Swartwood and wife Judy, of Clermont, Fla.; a niece and three nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Marjorie Swartwood; and husbands, James Elder and Norman Julian. She retired in 1984 from the Louisiana Department of Agriculture after 28 years of service, at which time she entered the legal secretary field and ultimately retired from the Jones Walker Law Firm in December of 2009 to pursue her passion for painting and traveling with her husband throughout the country. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Thursday, March 11, was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Friday from noon until religious service at 1 p.m. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Swartwood, Hayward Theriot, Greg Mullowney, Stan Holley, John Harrington and Rick Miller.
