
Annette Lahr Broderick, a native of Omaha, NE and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on her 91st birthday, Tuesday, January 29, 2013 after a brief illness. She was a graduate of Central High School in Omaha, and earned a BS in Foods&Nutrition with major in Dietetics from Iowa State University in 1943, and completed her dietetic internship at Duke University. She was a registered dietician and a life member of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She was a travel tour guide for Bayou Brigade Tours for 25 years. She was a resident of St. James Place, a member of the Woman's Club of Baton Rouge and St. James Episcopal Church, where she participated in many activities over her adult life. She was a devoted wife and wonderful mother and grandmother. Annette is survived by son and daughter in law Scott and Linda Wren Broderick of Jackson, LA, sons Gary Broderick and Patrick Broderick of Baton Rouge, grandchildren Philip Broderick of Houston, TX, Caroline Broderick of Washington, DC, and Olivia Broderick and Peter Broderick of Baton Rouge. Pall Bearers are Peter Broderick, Philip Broderick, Mille Delacroix, Paul Provenza, Oscar Shoenfelt, III and Gerald Sulzer. Honorary pall bearers C. Lenton Sartain and William J. Heroman, Sr. Annette was preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Frances Barta Lahr, her husband, Martin Broderick, Jr., sisters Bernice Clayworth, Deloras Talbot, brother Robert Lahr and brother and sister in law Robert and Kathleen Broderick Barnes. Visitation will be Thursday, January 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. and at St. James Episcopal Church on Friday, February 1st from 1:00 to 3:00 PM followed by services at 3:00 PM officiated by the Rt. Rev. Robert C. Witcher assisted by Revs. Mary Ann Garrett and John Miller. Internment following the service in Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. James Place or St. James Episcopal Day School.
