

Annie Lou “Ludy” Stewart Girod, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Amite, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the age of 94. Ludy was a graduate of Southeastern University and longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. Ludy had a kind and gentle spirit, but contained the strength and resolve to face each challenge that life presented. She was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed. Ludy was preceded in death by her husbands, James J. “Jim” Corbett II, and Dr. Clarence E. Girod; parents, Roy M. Stewart Sr. and Winnie Kemp Stewart; son, Dr. James J. “Joey” Corbett III; and sister, Mary Eva Sanders. She is survived by daughters, Ann Corbett Bevan and Jean Corbett Williams; grandchildren, Ryan Watson, James J. “Jim” Corbett IV and his wife Ann, Dr. Gwendolyn Corbett Henry and her husband Benson, and Catherine Hanna and her husband Allen; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Margie Billodeaux; brother, Roy M. Stewart Jr.; daughter-in-law, Vallan Brown Corbett; and son-in-law, Shane Watson. Ludy's life will be celebrated by her family in a private ceremony.
