

A life well-lived, Anson Joseph Toups, aged 89, passed away on April 25, 2026. Born on October 17, 1936, in Galliano, Louisiana, Anson was a man of wisdom, kindness, and unwavering guidance. Anson spent his career as a diesel mechanic creating a successful business, solving problems with precision and care. Under his leadership, ANS Engines, LLC is remembered for its integrity, expert service and commitment to customer satisfaction. At home, he was a loving father to five children, a doting grandfather to eight, a great-grandfather of six, and a supportive and loving husband to his wife, Ruth, of almost 70 years. An avid outdoorsman, Anson found joy in fishing and traveling the world. Above all, Anson cherished his role as a father and a husband to Ruth. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth Savoie Toups, his children, Kitty (Lisa Woolfolk), Kelly (Krisandra Guidry), Rusty (Darla Rousse) and Toby (Tessie Danos). He is also survived by eight beloved grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and brother Raymond Toups. He is predeceased by his daughter and son-in-law Missy T. Hix (Kenneth Hix), parents Remie and Octavie Bruce Toups, and siblings Flavia T. Leblanc and Mabel T. Gisclair. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Heart of Hospice in Baton Rouge for their tender care and support during this difficult time. An extra special thank you goes to Felicia Briggs and Casey Toups - our angel caregivers. Their loving care and kindness provided immense comfort for Gramps these last couple of years. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a future date.
