
A native of White Castle and resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at age 93. He was a veteran of World War, II, having served with the Army Air Forces in the North African, Rome/Arno and Rhineland campaigns. He was a 1940 graduate and Golden Tiger of LSU. Visitation at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2250 Main St., on Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Louise Landes Agosta; and son, Andrew Anthony Agosta. Survivors include his daughters, Mary Wilton and husband Joseph, and Felice Agosta, all of Baton Rouge; and sons, Damian Agosta, of Port Hudson, and Lucien Agosta and partner Bud Sydenstricker, of Palm Springs, Calif. Survivors also include five grandchildren, Sara and Ben Klein and Christopher Damian Agosta, all of Baton Rouge, Adam and Lisa Agosta, of St. Francisville, Kristen and Al Shanks, of Conroe, Texas, and Seth Taylor Wilton, of Baton Rouge; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by devoted sister, Rosalie Agosta, of Baton Rouge. The family is grateful for the loving and generous assistance of the staff at The Haven II at Windermere, especially Stacy Deville-Thompson and Joyce Johnson, the "Knights of the Round Table," and his many loyal friends at the Haven II. The family thanks Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Nettie Guedon and Vicki Bergquist for their comfort and support. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
