

Anthony Tranchina, 97, a native of Bayou Goula and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013. A WWII veteran of the US Army, Anthony was owner/operator of several automotive service stations in the Baton Rouge area. He was a member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed baseball and never passed up a good meal, but the love of his life was his family. He is survived by his children: Frank Tranchina, Leon Tranchina, Jimmy Tranchina and Beth Tranchina Noonan and husband Bill; grandchildren: Chad Tranchina, Lauren Tranchina, Beau Tranchina and wife Christine, Dillon Tranchina and wife Kristen, Michelle Ford and husband Wade, David Gehegan and wife Valerie, Ben Noonan, and Blaire Kinney and husband Rickey; great grandchildren: Kit Tranchina, Rylan Tranchina, London Gehegan, Chase Ford, Noah Ford, Serenity Lanclos, Bryce Gehegan, and Madelyn Richardson; sister Josephine Satchell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Leona Zaborowski Tranchina; parents and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 5pm until 8pm and continuing on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 10am until service time at 12pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House and Harvest Manor nursing home in Denham Springs, especially Mrs. Bonnie.
