Antoinette Quincy Siddall died peacefully April 3, 2016 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana after a long and busy life. She was born in Salem, Massachusetts on July 27, 1923 to Lyman and Mary Louise Quincy. She was the widow of Thomas Henry Siddall, III, who died in 2000. He was a professor of chemistry at the University of New Orleans for many years. She loved life and over the years was involved in everything from Girl Scouts, little theater productions, church choir, book clubs, bridge clubs, the League of Women Voters and the New Orleans Museum of Art where she was volunteer coordinator for 15 years. Toy was also a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She attended St. Mary's Episcopal College, married during WWII, raised five children, returned to school and graduated from the University of New Orleans when she was 50. Toy took to all things maternal with gusto, from raising a large brood of healthy kids plus their friends to serving up vast feasts and caring for the finest details of her children's needs. Her mechanical ingenuity was also remarkable, being able to improvise almost anything at any time in a household where her husband Tom created a vacuum in that space. Toy is survived by her five children, Antoinette S. Hamilton of Kerrville, TX; Elizabeth S. Etges and husband William of Fayetteville, AR; Jane S. Thomas and husband Randolph of Baton Rouge, LA; Thomas L. Siddall of Zionsville, IN and Jonathan H. Siddall and wife Kap of Dunstable, MA. Toy and Tom were also unofficial parents to Richard LeMaitre who lives with his wife Cari in Spanish Fort, AL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Sarah Hamilton, Josiah Hamilton, Suzanne Hobbs, Jacob Siddall, Zachary Siddall, Lauren Etges, Peter Etges, Katherine Etges, Liz Crocker and Caroline Thomas. She has eight great grandchildren, Bethany Hamilton, Josiah Hamilton, Sophie Hamilton, Cecilia Petersson, Jocelyn Martin, Ozzy Martin, Elie Etges and Emilia Crocker. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
