When you think of a person who has had an impact on your future, I think of Dr. Arlene Kestner. I was a member of one of her first classes at Southern University, and it was memorable. She opened doors that we only dreamed about. She started as our instructor and became our endeared friend. I, along with others from that class, have shared with Arlene the impact that she had on our academic and personal lives. If my "style" of teaching is an emulation of her influence, then I feel honored. Her work and her service will speak for her.

Dr.Kestner was not only an outstanding educator/professor but a mentor and friend. She was an extraordinary woman with specials gifts and talents that she shared freely with her students. I consider her to be one of my most unforgettable and loved professors. Dr. Kestner was such an inspiration to me and as a result, I decided to pursue a career in Psychology. I will forever treasure the memories I have of her and feel blessed to have known her. Sending my heartfelt condolences, love and blessings to the family.
