

Barbara retired from J.C. Penny's and was a retired substitute Teacher for the Live Oak School System in Watson, LA. She was a resident of Denham Springs and a native of New York. She passed away Friday July 13, 2012 at The Carpenter House, in Baton Rouge. Barbara is survived by daughter Catherine M. Zimboski, of Denham Springs, step-daughter Sharon D. Lade, of Illinois; two sons John R. Zimboski and wife Shelly, of Sheffield, MA. and Louis C. Arzt III and wife Michelle, of Denham Springs; two sisters Mary P. O'Connor of Chatham, New York and Elizabeth D. Barden and husband John, of Spencertown, New York; ten grandchildren; sixteen greatgrandchildren; four nieces; four nephews; three great-nieces, and nine great-nephews. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Louis C. Arzt Jr., father James Towart, mother Frances M. Tanner, two sisters Ann Elizabeth Towart and Ruth Ann Towart; grandson Jason R. Zimboski and a great-nephew Michael J. Hoover. Barbara was a 1955 graduate of Chatham High School, in Chatham, New York, and active member of St. Francis Episcopal Church, in Denham Springs. Barbara loved bowling, reading, crocheting , knitting, needle point, sewing, painting and doing puzzles, and above all, spending time with her family. Visitation will be on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at St Francis Episcopal Church from 6:30pm till Memorial Service at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers the family request donation to St. Joseph Hospice, or Cancer Services of Baton Rouge.
