Barbara Ann Bryant Bethea

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at the age of 78. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Guy Joseph Bethea, Jr., whom she met while attending Charity Hospital Nursing School in Laurel, MS; daughter, Linda Bethea Hoover; son-in-law, Barry Hoover; daughter, Debbie Bethea Morse; son-in-law, John Morse; daughter, Barbara Bethea Schopp; son-inlaw, James Forrest Schopp; daughter, Lisa Bethea Atkinson; son-in-law, Daniel Atkinson Jr; 22 grandchildren; Kristen Hoover Piper, husband Dwayne Piper; Brandon Hoover, wife Jodi Hoover; Melinda Hoover Denison, husband Jeremy Denison; Alyssa Morse; Amber Morse; Bethany Morse; Rachel Morse; Jonathan Morse; Melanie Schopp; Marian Schopp; Justin Schopp; Jacob Schopp; James Daniel Schopp; Joseph Schopp; Joshua Schopp; Christi Atkinson; Carolyn Atkinson; Sarah Atkinson; Daniel Atkinson; Joel Atkinson; Hannah Atkinson, MaryEllen Atkinson; 8 greatgrandchildren; Bryant Piper; Austen Piper; Brianna Piper; Landon Piper; Triston Hoover; Chandler Hoover; Sterling Hoover; Jalynn Schopp; sisters- in-law, Claudette Bryant; Dorthy Wilson. She was preceded in death by her son, the late Guy Joseph Bethea III; parents, Hettie Bryant and Byron Bryant; brothers: James, Charles, Byron Jr. and Jerry. She was born in Taylorsville MS, resided in Central, LA and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a heart transplant patient survivor for 15 years and will be greatly missed by all. Visitation Monday, May 21, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. with service to follow at 7 p.m., all at Fellowship Baptist Church at 14512 Greenwell Springs Road, Central, LA 70739.
