On April 6, 1943, Holis Clark and Gustavia Francois Clark welcomed into the world a baby girl, Barbara Ann Clark, affectionately known as “Bob, Moma, Teedy Barbara, and Grandma Barbara by those who knew and loved her. On Friday, July 24, 2026, a calm and peaceful rest was granted to our dear loved one and she entered into eternal peace. Barbara accepted Christ at an early age and dedicated her life to serving Almighty God.
Barbara faithfully served Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Charles T. Smith Sr. for many years, followed by Pastor Fred Jeff Smith until her death. She served faithfully in the Choir, Usher Ministry No. 2, and the Church School.
Barbara received her formal education in the Orleans Parish School System. She graduated from Walter L. Cohen High School in New Orleans and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge. She started her career at Shell Chemical Company in New Orleans and served the remainder of her career as an accountant at the Shell Chemical Plant in Geismer, LA.
Barbara was a spirited, church-going woman that enjoyed reading her Bible, traveling, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves precious and fond memories with her son Tyrone P. Legier, six grandchildren: Anthony III (Olivia), Anaees, Tyrone II (Larriesha), Torri (Jordan), Terrilyn, and Kristyn, nine great-grandchildren: Anera, Auvia, Anthony IV, Alivia, Tyleigh, Saylor, Leightyn, Sekani, Tyrone III, as well as, her siblings: Karen Williams (the late Byron), Mark DuBuclet, Robin DuBuclet, Holis Clark Jr., and Jacqueline Clark, and a host of other relatives, friends, neighbors, and church family.
She was preceded by her parents Holis Clark and Gustavia Francois, her son Anthony Legier Jr., and her brother Joseph Francois.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tyrone Legier, Tyrone Legier II, Anthony Legier III, Kenneth Pointer, Mark DuBuclet, Marcus DuBuclet, Joey Francois, and Christopher DuBuclet.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 185 Eddie Robinson Sr. Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Interment will take place at a later date at Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA.
