Barbara M. Whitworth

Barbara M. Whitworth passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the age of 92. She was a native of Walker, LA, and a longtime resident of Greenwell Springs, LA. She was an excellent seamstress, an avid China painter, and professional doll maker. Barbara, along with her husband, Larry, owned and operated Barbara’s Doll World and Doll Hospital for 20+ years. She was a loving wife and mother, and a mentor for her grandchildren. Barbara was a lover of God’s word and imparted Bible’s to her loved ones on multiple occasions. Barbara is survived by her children, James Michael Whitworth (Judy), John Melvin Whitworth (Gail), Donna Whitworth LeSage (Darrell), and Larry Ross Whitworth (Toni); 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family members. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Larry Melvin Whitworth; grandchildren, James Micah Whitworth, Martin Sharpe, and Daniel Knight; parents, John and Mattie Minton; and siblings, Mildred Passman, Donald Minton, Kenneth Minton, and Gary Minton. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 10am until the funeral service at 12pm.
