Betsy Ann Belba Juneau, beloved wife, mother and "Grammie", passed away peacefully at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on May 16, 2018 at the age of 76. Betsy was born on November 5, 1941 in Dover, Ohio and has been a Baton Rouge resident since 1971. She is survived by her loving husband, COL Jerald Juneau, US Army, retired and her dearly cherished family -- daughter, Renee McCoy; son-in-law, David McCoy; grandchildren: Madeline, Patrick and Evangeline (Evie) in Gonzales, Louisiana; brother, Victor Belba and his wife, Sandy, in Boulder, Colorado; and numerous, precious, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Army Lt. Col. Isadore Belba and Dorothy Harris Belba. As a registered nurse, Betsy graduated from Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland after attending thirteen schools in twelve years all over the United States and Germany as an "Army Brat." She met and married Jerald, who was originally from Bordelonville, LA, in Heidelberg, Germany in 1965. Betsy lived as a resident of Kenilworth Subdivision since 1972. She enjoyed playing Bridge, photography, machine embroidery, reading and arts and crafts of all kinds. She was a member of the Military Officers Association of America, the American Legion Auxiliary, the LSU Faculty and Staff Retirees Club and the Campus Club of LSU. Visitation will be at Greenoaks on Monday, May 21 from 5-7pm and again on Tuesday, May 22 from 9am until the service begins at 10am with a reception to follow. The Celebrant for the service will be Deacon Joe Simeca assisted by Betsy's nephew, Michael Mohr, SJ and niece, Lilla Armand as altar server. Pallbearers will be David McCoy, Patrick McCoy, Jeff Mohr, Wayne Armand, Trent Clark, Nicholas Curtis, Jacob Curtis and Trevor Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Major General Glenn Curtis and Jonathan Hoffman. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the LSU Alumni Association, Cadets of the Ole War Skule, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Baton Rouge Fire Department.
