Betty Lieux "Mommie" Betts passed away Friday, June, 27, 2014 at the age of 87, a resident of Prairieville and a native of New Roads, LA. She is a retired secretary who is survived by her daughters; Barbara Jan Martin and husband Dr. Ed Martin and Patricia Betts Robertson, a sister Helen Chapman and a brother James N. Lieux, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and "Baby "Cate makes eight. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years; Ned Betts, her parents; James A. and Camilla Patin Lieux and two nephews and one niece; Richard and Scott Gwin and Anne Burnett. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East 11000 Florida Blvd. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 beginning at 10:00 am with services in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. She loved to garden and cook Cajun food. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Joseph Carpenter House. Special thanks to Dawn, Chantell and Jerica at St. Joseph Hospice.
