Betty Seng Newman

Passed away in Baton Rouge, La. Fri. Jan. 15, 2016. A long time resident of Baton Rouge and native of Greenwood, Ms. She was 88 years old. She and her Husband Bill shared a life time of happiness together and were retired owners of Newman&Mckay Jewelers. Services will be Tues. Jan. 19, 2016 at 12:00 noon at St. James Episcopal Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Survivors include her daughter Caroline Riffle and husband David of Baton Rouge. Two sons, Lance Newman and wife Patrice of Dallas Tx and Richard Newman and wife Donna of Baton Rouge. Also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years William M. Newman. Pallbearers include David Riffle, Matthew Riffle, Eric Newman, David Toler, and Kent Caldwell. Honorary pallbearer William Riffle. She loved opera and was a member of BRAVO. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the LSU School of music William M Newman Scholarship fund in care of the LSU foundation. Rabenhorst 825 Government St. in charge of arrangements.
