Mrs. Betty Claire Bond Sanders

"And then one day I'll Cross the river, I'll fight life's final war with pain, And then as death gives way to victory, I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives." Betty Claire Bond Sanders, a native of Beaumont TX and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012 at the age of 80. She retired as a drafting instructor with 17 yrs at Louisiana Technical College. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and Great grandmother who will be missed dearly by all that knew her. She recently said, "The greatest blessing of my life has been my family." She loved her church family at First Baptist Church of Central. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Percy Sanders; two sons, Roger Sanders and wife Dana, and Rodney Sanders and wife Sandi; two daughters, Kolleen Martin and husband Terry, and Kathleen Sanders and friend Doris Heltz; 7 grandchildren, Meredith Boudousquie, Stacy Mustin, Miki Aucoin, Ashley Phillips, Tiffany Loper, Lori Sibley, and Katie Lambert; and 9 great grandchildren, Kiki, Layla, Daniel, Tessa, Lindsey, Tatum, Emily, Hayden and Levi. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lillian Bond; and her brother, Joseph Bond; and his son Jonathan Bond. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-6pm and resume on Monday from 9am until service at 10am, conducted by her pastor, Jason Allen. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Roger Sanders, Rodney Sanders, Terry Martin, Joe Bond, Jesse Sibley and Chris Lambert. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of a quiet, steadfast faith. She demonstrated unconditional love by never speaking ill of anyone.
