

Betty Slaven Truxillo, a native of Mt. Hermon, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on June 21, 2021 at home at the age of 91. Betty and her husband, Herman were married for 65 years and raised their two daughters in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a great homemaker and wonderful cook. They loved to travel and spend time with their many family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Truxillo of Baton Rouge, LA. And Jo Ann Slaydon of Pensacola, FLl, son-in-law, Les Slaydon, Pensacola FL. ; grandsons, Brad Beridon (Heather) of Katy, TX, Bryan K. Slaydon, Kyle J. Slaydon both from Baton Rouge, LA; great grandchildren, Connor Beridon and Kailyn Beridon, Katy, TX; sister, Wanda Slaven Lee of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Donald Slaven, Mt. Hermon, LA; sister-in-law, Lois Truxillo Dedon of Baton Rouge, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by, husband of 65 years, Herman Joseph Truxillo; brothers, Melvin Slaven (Willie), Vernon Slaven (Mary) and Kenneth Slaven; sister-in-laws, Patricia Slaven and Aline Rogers and brother in laws, Bill and Roy Truxillo.
Pallbearers will be, Brad Beridon, Connor Beridon, Bryan Slaydon, Kyle Slaydon, Butch Pitchford and Brad Boyce. Honorary pallbearers will be, Dr. Charles Beals and Les Slaydon.
Visitation will take place at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks Funeral Home, Friday, June 25, 2021 from 12:00pm until funeral service time of 2:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
