Born May 23, 1915, in Iowa, "Miss Beulah" fell asleep into eternal life on Sunday, April 18, 2010. She was an amazing lady, loved by and a blessing to all who knew her. Her quiet life and loving ways truly exemplified the fruits of the Spirit. She will be greatly missed. We are grateful for the wonderful memories she has given us and, now, for the assurance we have that she is in God's eternal presence. While she accomplished many things in her long life, she worked hardest at doing the very best possible for her family. She is survived by two sons, Norman Bert Whitehead Sr. and Gary Lee Whitehead, of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Faye Whitehead Heaslip, of San Antonio; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marlene Whitehead. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Fannie Karn; husband, James Alton Whitehead; son, Eugene Whitehead; and brother, Malvern Karn. A memorial service will be held at Parkview Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made for the purchase of the new organ to praise and honor the Lord at Parkview Baptist Church.
