Beverly Bama Stewart Murphy rejoices with her Lord after living a life of strength and honour for 83 years in this world. Beverly, born Oct. 17, 1923, in LeCompte, grew up in Heflin and lived her adult life in Baton Rouge. She died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, in Baton Rouge, as a result of complications of Parkinson's disease. Beverlywas preceded in death by her husband, Richard Harrison Murphy; mother, Samantha "Mancy" Jones Stewart; and father, Aubrey Stewart. She is survived by her son, Richard Steven Murphy; daughter and son-in-law, Libby Murphy and James Long; grandchildren, Jeb Baugh and Misty Murphy; and three great-grandchildren. Others left to cherish her memory are Shiloh Murphy and beloved niece and nephew Charlotte and Randy Owens. Beverlyis also survived by innumerable foster children who were her life's work as a social worker in the East Baton Rouge Parish Office of Community Services. After retiring, she dedicated her life to the care and support of her family. She was a member for nearly 50 years ofLanierBaptistChurch, where she taught the Ruth Sunday School class for a number of years. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Nov. 27, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday after 11 a.m. Service at the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday, officiated by her longtime pastor, Brother T.W. Terral. Burial inResthavenGardensof Memory, where she will forever be at her husband's side once again. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Rose Society, P.O.
