
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at 88 years of age. She was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. Billie graduated from Baton Rouge High School, attended LSU, and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was also a member of the Baton Rouge Junior League and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved to travel and had a love for butterflies, birds, and books. Her greatest love was serving her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harry V. Barton, Sr.; children; daughters, Dana Barton, and Sara Morris and husband Harry, and their son, Harry V. Barton, Jr. and wife Estelle; and grandchildren, Katherine Brooks, William Barton Platte, Michael Eugene Platte and wife Anne, Harry Marcel Barton, and Hab Matthew Barton and wife Stacy. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Sadie Burden; brother, Colonel Dan Burden, Jr.; and sister, Georgie Touchstone.
