

A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Prairieville passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012 at her son’s residence. Billie was named after movie actress Billie Burke who starred as Glenda the Good Witch of the North in the 1938 movie The Wizard of Oz. She was a 1937 graduate of Baton Rouge High School. She was a member of the Fairfield Lodge Eastern Star, and Broussard Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm, and on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 12pm to 2pm with the service beginning at 2pm conducted by Dr Nathaniel Luce and singer Mary Beth Berthelot. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her three children, Ronald and wife Carol Depew of Prairieville; Robert and wife Connie Depew of Prairieville; Carol and husband Billy Dedon of Hiram, GA; brother, Clarence Burke; seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Warren Depew; mother, Izetta Burke; son, Raymond Depew; grandson Ronald Bruce Depew; two brothers, Robert and Edward Burke. Pallbearers will be Darren Depew, Cliff Depew, Brady Dedon, Garon Berry, Michael Berry, and Charlie Seeds.
