

Birdie Mae Mire Landry, 92 - A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend was called to her heavenly home on March 10, 2026 surrounded by family. Birdie was born in Gonzales, LA on December 19, 1933 to the late Telesphor Mire and Ledie Braud Mire. She later resided in Baton Rouge, LA and in1952 she married Lloyd Landry, Sr. They had five children. They were members of Most Blessed Catholic Church for many years and in recent years she attended St Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church. Birdie worked for many years as a bookkeeper where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to her profession. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and decorating for the holidays. She loved and cared for her children and grandchildren. When she retired, her greatest joy was spending time with her great-grandchildren. As many have said, “If you knew her, you loved her”. She is survived by her son, Gary Landry and his wife Linda; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Rich Starrett, Wendy and Ronnie Thibodeaux, Glenda and Carey McGraw; daughter in law, Debbie Landry; 12 grandchildren, Luke and Mark Landry, Jake Landry (Kate), Angela Landry (Stephanie), LeDee Workman (Tommy), Chad Babin (Josh), Carlie Knight, Misty Chaney (Beau), Trent Thibodeaux (Mackenzie), Clint McGraw (Megan), Jene’ Forney, and Marty McGraw; 12 great-grandchildren: Tyler and Sarah Logan Landry, Austin and Autumn Workman, Chase Babin, Chelsea and Kensey Knight, Liv Chaney, Tate Thibodeaux, Jayci and Avery McGraw, and Maddux Forney; and sister Charlene LeBlanc. Birdie was preceded in death by her parents, Telesphor and Ledie Mire, her devoted husband of 51 years Lloyd Landry, Sr.; her son Lloyd Landry, Jr.; her brothers Burton and twin Connie Rae Mire; her sisters Betty White, Verna Acosta, Gloria Melugin, Delores Daigle, Bobbie Shipp, and Jeannie Jumonville, and her daughter-in-law Becky Davis Landry. Visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church in Greenwell Springs, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until mass at 11:30 a.m., followed by burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. The family extends special thanks to Oschsner Doctors Bahij Khuri, Kristin Morvant, and Blakeney McKnight, the staff at the Claiborne at Shoe Creek, and St. Joseph’s Hospice/Carpenter House.
