
Owner of Chandler Boat Service, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., she passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at her home. She was 97. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Feb. 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ron Lambe Interment to follow in Dunn's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Echola, Ala., on Wednesday, Feb. 9. Blanche is survived by her daughter, Sara B. Shelburne, and husband Gene; granddaughter, Heather Brown and husband Rhett; great-granddaughter, Emma Brown; niece, Beth Branyon and husband James; grandniece, Leigh Ann Hobson and husband Darrell; great-grandnephew, Michael Branyon; and great-grandnieces, Kristin Hobson, Sarah Branyon and Kaitlyn Branyon. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Julia Pearson; husband of 63 years, Orville W. Chandler; brothers, Frank Pearson and wife Estelle, and Grover Pearson and wife Bernice; and grandnephew, Jim Branyon. Blanche was a longtime member of Istrouma Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge. A special thank you goes to Art Talton for his many years of devoted service to the Chandlers and Chandler Boat Service.
