Bobby Lee Marsh was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to Ruby and Elvis Marsh, and spent most of his life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Graduating from Baton Rouge High in 1953, he joined the Air Force shortly thereafter. That same year, he married his highschool sweetheart, Gladys Rieder, and they remained married until her death in 2002.
Bobby was personable and social, which aided him in his job in sales for Butler Paper. His clients and coworkers became close friends, many of whom he remained in contact with long after his retirement in 1995. But, his real passion was cars. A fan of Nascar, he was often found tinkering with an engine. He built an MGTD from a kit, and had restored several vintage dune-buggies. He was also an avid sailor, and in mid-life could either be found sailing on Lake Pontchartrain or on the Amite River fishing. An added light in his life were his cats, who were a great comfort after the death of his wife.
A proud family man, he was survived by three daughters and a son: Susan Broussard, Marianne Burke, Robert Marsh, and Rachel Marsh. He was proud of his four grandchildren: Hunter Broussard, Bryan Broussard, Connor Burke, and Cortney Marsh, and his one great-grandson, Toby Broussard. Throughout his life he remained close to his siblings, Johnny Marsh, Juanada Teas, and Juanita Delaune. Often visiting with his brother. Bobby was proud to call his in-laws family, and held Lois Marsh, Vennie-Earl Delaune, George Teas, Larry Broussard, and Kristoffer Getchell close to his heart.
The family would like to thank the Louisiana Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana and Hospice of Baton Rouge for their fantastic and dedicated support.
