Bonabel Dupre Naquin

Bonabel (Bonnie) Dupre’ Naquin received her heavenly wings on Sunday, July 18, 2021. She passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family. Bonnie is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: Dawnelle (Bryan) Flach; Barry (Ann) Naquin; Stephanie (Wayne) Leger; Granddaughters: Amanda (Brandt) Sanders; Samantha (Hunter) Kole; Grandson: William Anthony Leger; Step-Grandchildren: Brody (Katie) Boudoin; Brylee Boudoin; Great Grandchildren: Beckett Joseph Sanders, Addison Katherine Sanders, Sadie Marie Kole, Rhett Michael Kole, and Samantha Rose Flach. One brother: Philip (Sandy) Dupre’; Sisters: Phyllis (Lovelace) Duval; Geraldine (Robert)Thomassie; Margaret Neil Hebert; Laura (Johnny) Armstrong; Sister-in-law, Diana Naquin Edmonson. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Narvil (Buck) Naquin; daughter, Risa Ann Naquin; her parents, Philip Augustin Dupre’ and Mabel Duplantis Dupre’; sister, JoAnn Dupre; brother, Reggie Dupre’ Sr; sister and husband, Maybelle and Floyd Songe; brothers-in-law, Leland Neil, Sr. and Carroll Hebert. Bonnie grew up in Houma, Louisiana. She graduated from St. Francis de Sales Catholic School which at that time was across the street from her family home. She was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Choir and St. Bernadette Catholic Church choir. She was a member of the Sodality of Mary since her middle school days. Bonnie’s devotion to the Blessed Mother was exhibited by her continued membership in the Catholic Daughter Chapters in every parish she lived. Bonnie worked at the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office and later for Louisiana Power and Light for 25 years. She began work with LP&L in the Montegut office and then worked in the Houma and Gretna offices. Her official title was District Accounting Supervisor. She retired in 1983 and moved with Buck from New Orleans, to Houston, and then to Midland, Texas. When Buck retired, they moved to Baton Rouge, LA and became very active in St. Patrick Catholic Church parish. Bonnie was involved in many Church activities, including Altar Society and KC Ladies Auxiliary for which she served as Treasurer many years. Bonnie loved to travel and see God’s beautiful world. Wherever she visited, Bonnie created many friendships. She was blessed to have seen most of the world. Bonabel, “Force of Nature” that she was, lived a full and vibrant life with an outgoing personality. Her smile and infectious laugh helped make every day a pleasure. She leaves behind a wealth of knowledge and experience which she passed on to her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be coordinated by Rabenhorst Funeral Home of Baton Rouge. All services will be held at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, 500 Goode Street, Houma, LA. Viewing will be on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. through noon. A High Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, with internment immediately following at St. Francis Cemetery #2.
