

Bonnie Wilming Hughes, resident of Baton Rouge and owner of Bonnie’s Lounge on Choctaw for over 10 years, passed away at her sister’s home on May 27, 2013. Bonnie was born January 7, 1951 in Dubuque, Iowa and moved to Baton Rouge from Davenport, Iowa in 1978. She worked for various establishments in Baton Rouge including, LJ’s Pub, the Rumrunner, Smackwaters and Stumps. At Bonnie’s Lounge everyone entered as a customer, but left as friends and family. Bonnie is survived by her children, Jennifer Wilming Martin (Jeff) and Justin Jaeger (Jessica Garcia); grandchildren, Ane Garcia, Tyler Martin and Alex Martin; siblings, Mary Payton (Al), Wayne Wilming (Judy), Harold Wilming (Joyce), Diane Brekke (Randy) and Jane Plantz (Dr. Tom Plantz); sister-in-law, Linda Wilming; numerous nieces and nephews, including Becky Johnston Brabham (Danny); and special friends Mark, Smiley, Lana, Jay and Lynette. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marcie Roader (Eb); father, Elmer Wilming (Blanche); brother, Nick Wilming; and sister and brother-in-law, Carol Boyce (Dick). A visitation will be held from 5-8pm, Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Greenoaks Funeral Home.
