
Bradley A. Cupit, affectionately called "Brad," was born in Baton Rouge on July 22, 1969, to Donald "Sonny" Cupit and Leora Cupit. He departed this life at the tender age of 38 on Thursday, June 12, 2008. Brad attended the Baptist Church for the Deaf, where he was a faithful and devoted member. After graduating from the Louisiana School for the Deaf, Brad attended the Helen Keller School for the Deaf and Blind in New York. Upon returning to Baton Rouge, he held several On-The-Job Training positions. At the time of his death, he had been employed by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for about nine years. Brad was an avid bowler and enjoyed participating in activities with his family and friends. Brad's love for nature and people fueled his interest in photography, of which he became a self-taught photographer and was able to take pictures of the beautiful sights he so loved. Brad enjoyed and treasured spending time with his Dad as they did so many things together. Brad was a true LSU fan, having loved the entire sports program. Survived by his parents, Donald A. "Sonny" Cupit and Leora Cupit; and a devoted stepmother, Beverley "Mom Bev" Cupit. He was blessed with a son, Michael Dupree; a loving and caring aunt, Mary L. Cupit, who helped raise Brad from birth; and his devoted uncle, Alan "Bud" Cupit, and aunt, Jeanette Cupit. Brad also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of classmates, close friends, co-workers and the deaf community that he so loved. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cupit and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Elledge. The family of Bradley Cupit gratefully acknowledges and extends thanks to the many relatives and friends for their acts of kindness extended in Brad's memory and to the family during this time of bereavement. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Monday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Mack and the Rev. Chris Andrews. Graveside service to follow at Chase Cemetery, Chase, at 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be John Deshotel, Eric Funk, David Lefors, Emanuel Hartman, Randy Pippins and Hart Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Donald A. Cupit, Alan "Bud" Cupit, Charles Brown, Jeff David, Rhonda Bueche, Jeanette Hanson and Pamela B. Ross.
