
Brent Patrick Poor, born July 17, 1969, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010, at age 41 while vacationing with his family at Orange Beach, Ala. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where he was also a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Day School Board of Trustees. He was a successful entrepreneur and business owner. Survived by his wife of 16 years, Stacy McDonald Poor; son, Devin Michael; daughter, Madison Loretta; parents, Joe Mike and Linda Lopez Poor; sisters, Meredith Nicole Poor Harrington and Kristen Michelle Poor; and brother, Michael Nicholas Poor, all of Baton Rouge; grandmother, Carmen Lopez, of Albuquerque, N.M.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard Micheal and Celia Ledbetter McDonald, of Central; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shannon McDonald and John Lucas Miller; nieces, Kelsey Pate and Kayla Renee Miller, all of Watson; nephew, Anthony Joseph Michael Distefano, of Baton Rouge; aunts and uncles, Patrick Rex Poor and wife Conie, of Dallas, and Michael and Kennetha Lucas; cousins, Jaime and Jeff Squire and Robert Lucas, Gregory and Lorri Lucas, and Alexander Lucas, all of Kingwood, Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Glenys Lucas, and Soda and Loretta Poor. He enjoyed LSU sports, golfing, boating, snow skiing and travel. A memorial fund has been established at Whitney Bank in his children's names. In addition, his Parkview Baptist School graduating classmates have established a Brent P. Poor scholarship at St. Luke's Episcopal Day School. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, July 30, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8833 Goodwood Blvd., on Saturday, July 31, at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Brien Koehler. Burial at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers include John Raymond, Chris Latour, Eric Gordon, Dennis Passman, Kenny Morrow and Michael Lucas.
