""....But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13. On Mother's Day, May 11th, 1986, our Lord and Savior blessed us with Byron Nicholas FaKouri. Byron's kind heart, compassion for others, artistic talent, funny wit and loving spirit were gifts to all who knew and loved him. He embraced being different and marching to the beat of his own drum. He loved nature and all animals and loved to go walking in the woods with his dogs. Byron was so happy to be living in Christ and boldly shared his faith, ever willing to approach the unapproachable with the love of Christ that had so impacted his young life. Being a very involved member of Antioch Community Church, he was planning to serve the Lord, leaving on a mission trip to Germany on June 29th but became ill on June 22, 2016. Jesus called our Byron home on August 10, 2016, to spend eternity in Heaven. We are so proud of you Byron and we love and miss you so much! Byron worked diligently as a Deputy Clerk in the Archives Division of the EBR Clerk of Courts Office and always shared his beautiful smile with all he encountered throughout his day. His tireless strive to perform his job with excellence will be greatly missed and irreplaceable. He is survived by his parents. "Momma", Suzanne Hodges Leon and stepfather Patrick Leon. His "Dad", William Nicholas FaKouri and stepmother Janet FaKouri. Sister, April Blanchard and brother in law Ronny Blanchard. Nephews, Cole FaKouri and Caleb Blanchard. Grandmothers, Vera Hodges and Billie FaKouri. Special cousin, Rhett Hodges was his dear friend in his life and loved him to the end. And many aunts, uncles, cousins and step siblings. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Johnny Lee Ralph Hodges and Jerry Elias FaKouri, Sr. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) on Sunday, August 14, 2016, from 1:30 until 4:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 4:00 PM.
