
Hidalgo, Caffery Joseph "CJ" or "Jay"Caffery Joseph "CJ" or "Jay" Hidalgo passed away on Monday, October 13, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center at the age of 81 due to cancer. He was born in New Orleans and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He served in the United States Marine Corp and received a National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. "CJ" retired from both the Baton Rouge City Police and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East 11000 Florida Blvd. Friday, October 16, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume Saturday, October 17, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church starting at 9:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am officiated by Rev. Mike Schatzle with entombment to follow at the church Mausoleum. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty Dipuma Hidalgo, daughters; Kristy Hidalgo Merrell and husband Alan, Angie Hidalgo Tate and husband Gary, Denice Comeaux Skinner and husband Tim, sons; Frank Holloway and wife Rebecka, Randy Hidalgo and wife Lisa, Perry Hidalgo and a sister; Delores Ramagos, grandchildren; Emily, Iscca and Talon Holloway, Alex Merrell, Brianna Tate, Elizabeth Skinner, Brett and Claire Hidalgo. He was preceded in death by his parents; Caffery and Myrtle Roussel Hidalgo, sisters, Getrude "Gert" Michel, Gertis Torres, Anna "Lucky" Sibley and Laura "Lolly" Guedry and a brother Harris Paul Hidalgo. Pallbearers will be; Randy and Perry Hidalgo, Tim Skinner, Daryl Pourciau, John "Coker" Welborn and Pam Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be, Brett Hidalgo and Hunter Collins and the remainder of the grandchildren.
