
A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Church Point, he passed away Friday, July 4, 2008, at his home. He was 77 and a parishioner of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church. He retired as a barge superintendent for Halliburton after 25 years of service and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was also an avid bowler for 55 years. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Thibodeaux; two daughters, Deborah Simon and husband Robert, and Donna Lee and husband Kenny; three sons, Gordon Thibodeaux and wife Diane, Anthony Grubbs and wife Tracie and Toby Grubbs and wife Angela; two sisters, Ruby Fontenot and husband Bill and Barbara Fontenot and husband Verlyn; grandchildren, Brad Broussard, Shai Simon, Matthew Lee, Scott Lee, Jennifer Fontenot, Lance Thibodeaux, Mitch Thibodeaux, Brooke Porrier, Ashton Grubbs, Caitlin Grubbs, Tristan Grubbs, Brandon Grubbs and Kelsey Youngblood; and great-grandchildren, Kameron Broussard, Kylyend Lee, Bailey Lee, Gavyn Fontenot, Sebastian Porrier and Aiden Porrier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Julia Andrepont Thibodeaux; and a granddaughter, Robyn Gail Simon. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, July 6, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting continues at St. Louis Catholic Church on Monday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Jack Nutter.
