
Carl Rupert Deen Jr., of Baton Rouge, was born February 28, 1926 and went to reunite with his beloved Thelma on May 31, 2018. Carl was a loving, giving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all that were fortunate to have known him. A retired AIA Architect, he partnered LeBlanc & Deen Architects, an established Architectural firm in Baton Rouge for over 40 years. He has many prominent Architectural Designs in and around the Baton Rouge area including the new Geology Building on the LSU Campus in Baton Rouge. Carl was a self-taught Architect which showed his morals and drive to succeed. He divulged himself in the works of Frank Lloyd Wright and used him as his inspiration. Carl's love and nurturing of his three sons, James Carl Deen (Karen), Kenneth Karl Deen (Patricia) and Frank Lloyd Deen (Karin) kept him a young man. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chase Deen, James Deen Jr (Brandie), Michelle Deen, London Segura (Perry), Sean Deen (Kay-La), 4 step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma S Deen, mother Ruby M Deen, father) Carl R Deen, sisters Gloria Hooks and Peggy Brohn, and grandsons Brady and Mathew Deen. Visitation will be held at Green Oaks Funeral Home beginning Monday June 4, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. for family and 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. for friends. Visitation will resume Tuesday June 5, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. with burial following.
