

Was born on May 26th, 1942 in Rosedale Louisiana. He died a peaceful death on Friday, May 27th, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He attended Istrouma High School and later enlisted in the Naval Branch of The Armed Forces of The United States of America in July of 1960. He was stationed in several postings including San Diego, Guam, and The Philippines through 1964. He is a long-time employee of Honeywell & union member of Teamsters Local 5.
One of his greatest accomplishments was establishment & co-ownership of The Atchafalaya Hunting Club. He dedicated numerous years of his life to building, maintaining, and regulating this organization, and many of his fondest of memories come from this club and its members.
He survived by his wife, (Alma Gay Pate) his siblings, (Gerald Hugh Pate & wife Linda Pate, and Merrelyn Pate Pittman & Husband Apha “Gene” Pitman) his two children, (Suzette Marie Turner & husband Carlos Turner, and Amy Michelle Pate) grandchildren, (Sarah Pate Turner & Fiance George Joseph Krause IV, Christian Luke Pate, Caitlin “Katie” Victoria Pate, Camrin Matthew Pate) great grandchildren, (George Joseph Krause V and Orin Landry Krause), two nephews (Warren Pate & Rodney Pate), and his former wife Peggy Landry Pate.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Steven Merril Pate & Martha Amadee Pate, and siblings Charles Eric Pate & James “Brother” Allen Pate.
His deep and fervent love for his family & friends will be remembered by all.
