Carla Strickland Tarver

Carla was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend. She found joy in shopping, cooking, dancing, singing, and traveling, embracing life with warmth and enthusiasm. Above all else, Carla treasured her family. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her loved ones, creating lasting memories, and sharing her love with those closest to her. She will be remembered for her kind heart, joyful spirit, and the deep love she had for her family and friends.

Carla is survived by her loving husband, Robert “Bobby” Tarver; sons, Chris Tarver (Heather) and Jeremy Tarver (Brooke); daughter, Hayley Tarver; and her beloved grandchildren, Zane, Seth, Brennan, Hayden, Bryson, Lilli, Klayton, Keegan, Presley, Kambree; great-granddaughter, Murphy; and her siblings and their spouses, Vicki and Glen, Mike and Patricia, and Dayna and Randy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, DJ and Millie Strickland.

A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 4 pm until 8 pm and will resume on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dreams Come True of Louisiana.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the first responders, both professional and civilian, as well as the doctors, nurses, and support staff at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for their tireless efforts, compassionate care, and dedication. Their kindness, professionalism, and support during this difficult time will always be deeply appreciated.
