A devoted Southern Baptist of strong faith, Carol had a lifelong passion for reading and dedicated 44 years of her professional career to Franklin Press in Baton Rouge as a proofreader and editor. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University and was a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert B. McCoin, Jr.; her mother, Elizabeth Holy McCoin; and her brother, Robert B. McCoin.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, David E. Anderson, Jr.; her daughter, Cheryl Poss Zimmermann, and son-in-law, William Zimmermann; her son, Mathew David Anderson, and daughter-in-law, Jessica Brousse Anderson; her beloved grandchildren, Jackson David Poss and his wife Caitie, Charles Sanford Poss, and Charlotte Eleanor Anderson.
She is also survived by her sister, Linda McCoin Crowe, and brother-in-law, A.G. Crowe; her brother, Alan Hampton McCoin, and sister-in-law, Kim McCoin; sister-in-law, Lynn McCoin; their children, and numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., led by her nephew, Michael Anderson of Falcon, Colorado.
Following the service, Carol will be laid to rest at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
