
Carol D Mosley, aged 56, passed away at 8:10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, at Baton Rouge General after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a life-long resident of Baton Rouge and was the State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Technology Services IT State Director. Her career was focused on helping bridge together technology and education for the students in Louisiana. Carol’s spirit and fortitude never wavered. She was a devoted mother and wife. She took pride in her daughter’s accomplishments and made sure she could be there to cheer her on at each milestone. Regardless of the curve balls that came her way, her unwavering optimism was present and an inspiration to all. Her spirit will be remembered and cherished. She is survived by her husband, Randy Breland; her daughter Maya Grace Breland; her 4-legged bestie Ellie; her mother Nancy Mosley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Stewart Hawley, Carrie and Charlie Cooper. Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Bo and Cherry Breland, Sister-in-law and partner Robin Breland and Thomas Guidroz, brothers in law Ricky Breland and partner Melinda Gadams and Brad Breland as well nieces and nephews from both the Mosley and Breland side. She is preceded in death by her father, C. Denton Mosley. Our heartfelt thanks to Drs. Daniel Levie and Ashley Staten as well as the wonderful nursing staffs at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and Baton Rouge General Hospital. They were truly dedicated and went above and beyond to formulate a care plan for each obstacle that was encountered. A small gathering will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday, August 16th at the home of Charlie and Carrie Cooper, 5932 Harness Road from 10:30 am -3:00 pm, please feel free to come and go as you wish during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center or the ASPCA .
