

Carolyn A. Lockwood "Nanie" passed away on June 6, 2026. A resident of Baton Rouge Carolyn was a caregiver to all she met. Becoming a registered nurse was a privilege for her taking care of all who needed her. Her mother (MaMart) was her shining star, whom she took care of most of her life. Always helping those who needed her most, she started her career at Our Lady of the Lake she then completed her life's work at Ollie Steele. Even after retirement she continued her caring work with siblings and the family who cherished her dearly. Carolyn was a devoted member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She did charitable work for St. Vincent DePaul Pharmacy helping people everywhere she went. During her off time she spent a tremendous amount of time on cruises traveling the world with many companions. Always traveling to see family who cherished that time with her. Carolyn loved to crochet and embroidery throughout the years. She would always share her work as gifts leaving memories through her work. Family was her world. She always made time for her loved ones no matter where she was. Christmas Eve was always a treasured memory and she would always bring sweet treats to see her family smile. Coffee was a staple for Carolyn no matter the time of day. She never met a stranger and was always willing to show kindness and generosity no matter what the situation. Carolyn was very special to all who loved her and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Carolyn is survived by her nieces; Frances (Jeff) Delaune, Karen (Phil) Waggenspack, Cathy (John) Duhon, Margaret (Todd) Eisenbeisz, and Linda Herrington, Nephew; Al (Debbie) Lockwood, sister-in-law; Marie Lockwood, as well as Numerous grand nieces and nephews and many special cousins. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; Martha (MaMart) Lockwood and James C. Lockwood Sr., brothers; Alfred Lockwood Sr., Jimmy Lockwood, Larry Lockwood, as well as sister-in-law; Elizabeth Lockwood Relatives and friends are invited to the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Government St. for a visitation on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 beginning at 6:00PM until 8:00PM. A visitation will resume at St. Agnes Catholic Church beginning at 9:00AM until Mass at 11:00AM. A burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include Andrew, Chad, Brian, Drake, Joshua, and Jordan.
