
A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she departed this life on Thursday, June 28, 2007. She was 79, a native of New York City and longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Monday, July 2, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joseph Arogyasami, celebrant. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Remaining to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her husband of 56 years, John R. Cummings of Baton Rouge; three daughters and their husbands, Ellen and Bob Beachum of Baton Rouge, Ann and Michael Pitre of Cary, N.C., and Jeanne and Richard Sehring of Alpharetta, Ga.; son and his wife, Jack and Lisa Cummings of Gonzales; 10 grandchildren, Steven and Lisa Beachum, Kevin and Meghan Pitre, Brittany, Patrick and Kelsey Sehring, Josh, Daniel and Kayla Cummings. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her many friends. She was an extremely kind, generous and thoughtful person, who will be greatly missed. She loved to share her joy of life with others and found special delight in buying presents for family and friends. She touched the hearts of many. A special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice of Baton Rouge, Dr. Michael Castine and his associates, and the Cancer Center at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for the dedication and kindness they showed during her care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Joseph Hospice of Baton Rouge or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
