Catherine R. Dowty

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and business owner, she was born Nov. 6, 1926, in New Orleans. God lovingly called her home at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010, at her home in Central. She is survived by her husband, Donald, of 64 years; daughter, Suzanne; son, Donald Jr.; and grandchildren, Kari and Payton Dowty and Britney Parks. Preceded in death by her parents, Victoria and Edward Reich; siblings, Victoria Kroger, Louise Voekel and Anna Mary Brehem; and grandson, Jared Hooper. Her adopted sons and daughters include Buster York, Danny Gaspard, John Furlong, David Bennett, Donnie Cooper, Wade Cline, Lance Bates, Aubrey Richard, Jennings Freeman, Kirk Broussard, Michael Kennedy, Kenny Myers, Kenny Kohler, Dianne Webber, Debbie Elkins and Denise Kennedy. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Tuesday, July 20, was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Baker, Wednesday, July 21, from 10 a.m. until Mass at 11 a.m., with the Rev.
