Catherine Ella Foster

Catherine Ella Fairchild Foster was born on July 4, 1929 and passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the age of 86. She was a native of St. Gabriel and a longtime resident of Walker. Ella is survived by numerous family members including her children, Catherine Cayko and husband, Richard, Vida Watson and husband, Jimmy, Donna Foster, Lucy Watson and husband, Roger, Gary “Pap” Foster and wife, Nila, Stacie Matherne and husband, Bo, and Patricia Jubin and husband, John; siblings, Cynthia “Pippi” Anderman, Bobby Fairchild, Donith Kling, Claire Phillips, Jean “Hep” Fairchild, Meryl “Dee” Fairchild, Joan “Jo Jo” Fairchild, and Martha George; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Ella was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Clarence Foster, Sr.; son, Clarence Foster, Jr.; parents Sam and Mattie Fairchild; brother, Achille “Buck” Fairchild; and two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Isla Watson. Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be her grandson, Derk and Hootie Lockhart, Jarrod, Boo, and Jacob Watson, Shane, Joshua, and Sam Foster, Brantley Jubin, and Dylan Matherne. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation Services.
