Catherine Trudy Major

Catherine Trudy MajorA native and resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the age of 62 after an extended illness. She was a parishioner of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church and enjoyed the company of her family and friends, being very sentimental at times.  Catherine was very selfless, always being thoughtful of others. She enjoyed taking trips, good times, good food, dancing, listening to music, and playing at the casino. She is dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.  Catherine is survived by her children Hollie Mayers (husband Tim) of Glynn, LA and son Kevin Major (wife Wendy) of Katy, TX; grandchildren, Kirstyn Jarreau, Logan Orillion, and Kylie Jo Orillion; brothers, Herbert Coussou, Jr (wife Beth) of Denham Springs, LA., and Tommy Coussou (wife Lisa) of Denham Springs, LA; and the father of her children Ronnie Major (wife Evelyn) of Glynn, LA.  She is preceded in death by her parents Herbert Coussou, Sr. and Doris Coussou and dear friend Tony Maniscalco.  Visitation will be on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church (5354 Plank Rd., Baton Rouge, LA 70805) from 10:30 am until the Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM celebrated by Father Robert "Bob" Lindsey.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.  Memorial contributions in Catherine's name may be made to Baton Rouge Cancer Services.
