

"Charles Gibson "Gib" Gaeke, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the age of 64. He was a retired Industrial Cooling Systems Consultant/Salesman. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, hiking, gardening and was a hummingbird enthusiast. His other passions included ballroom dancing, in which he was an instructor; Native American Pow Wow dancing and competition; show car competitor and race car enthusiast; singing, where he participated in barbershop quartets and choir; enjoyed a good cigar, glass of wine, Mardi Gras and his beloved LSU football. Survived by his sister, Diane Gaeke; his niece, Sarah Travasos; Aunt and Uncle Carol and Bobby Meadows of Oklahoma City; Aunt and Uncle Sandra and Alan Strine of Houston; his loving and devoted friends, Patricia Martina, Anne Rogers Gentry, Mark Gangi and Mark Hyatt. Preceded in death by his father, G.C. Gaeke; his mother, Rosemarie Gaeke; and his beloved dog, P.T. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) from 12:00 PM until Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Dr. Robert G. Nichols. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Arthur Mika, Mark Hyatt, Raymond Kobetz, Phillip Kobetz, Scott Smith, and Lane Westbrook. Mark Gangi and Paul Melancon will be honorary pallbearers.
