

Isaiah 40:31-but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Charles "Keith" Jackson, age 94, passed away on May 28, 2026. Born on September 13, 1931, in Bodden Town, Grand Cayman, B.W.I., Keith was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Keith lived a life marked by service, dedication, and devotion to his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 25th Infantry Division during the Korean War. Following his military service, he enjoyed a distinguished career as a Merchant Mariner and Able-Bodied Seaman with Exxon Mobil. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel Spencer Jackson and Elizabeth Alida Wood Jackson; his grandchildren, Zachary Charles Watts and John Keith Rasmussen; and his siblings, Gaynel Groleau, Burton Jackson, and Vernon Jackson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Marjorie Chisholm Jackson; his children, Bonnie (Arthur) Jackson Brignac, Ami (Jerald) Jackson Rasmussen, and Charles Anthony Jackson; and his cherished grandchildren, Rachel Marie Jackson, Spencer Ryan Brignac, Stefanie Gayle Brignac, Isabel Grace Rasmussen, and Ian Jackson Rasmussen. Keith will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his commitment to family, and the strength and character he demonstrated throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and perseverance that will continue to inspire all who knew him. A Celebration of Keith's Life will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, 9526 Joor Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70818, on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Jim Gorski. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or Paralyzed Veterans of America. Keith's memory will be treasured by his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
