A retired painter and an avid hunter, he passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at his home in Gonzales at age 68. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann LeBlanc Laurent; daughter, Cherie LaBorde and husband Cary; two sons, Charles Laurent Jr. and Brent Laurent and wife Lisa; two sisters, Barbara Cantillo and husband Tony, and Anna Jeansonne; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sophie and Bill Shelby; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Claudette LeBlanc; stepmother, Velma Laurent; and seven grandchildren, Trey, Travis and Shane Laurent, Shea, Jordy and Macy Allen and Brayden LaBorde. Preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh Laurent and Stella Babin; stepfather, Layton Babin; daughter-in-law, Amy Laurent; and granddaughter, Brandi Laurent.
