

A native of Church Point, C.P. lived in Opelousas until 1964, when he and his wife and children moved to Baton Rouge. He was born Dec. 17, 1919, and died at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. C.P. is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Garbo LeJeune; children, Charles and fiancée Judy Dreher, Michael and wife Anna, and Jo Lynn and husband Don Caffery. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Ralph and Mary Caffery and Luke LeJeune. He was employed as a gas specialist at Exxon for 39 years. C.P. was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Eunice LeJeune; brother, Abby; and two sisters, Ollie and Sybil. C.P. was a World War II veteran, serving January 1942 to September 1945. He was in the 8th Army Air Force, 68th Bomb Squadron, 44th Bomb Group, 283rd Division. His war campaigns were Air Offensive Europe, Sicily, Naples, Foggia, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe, Air Combat and Ploesti, Poland. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Friday, May 10, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles LeJeune, Mike LeJeune, Ralph Caffery, Luke LeJeune, Don Caffery and Chet Fruge.
