

Charles Andrew Mansur, Sr., lifetime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the age of 82. Charles was a proud Marine, joining the USMC when he was only 17 years old and eventually earned the rank of Sergeant E5. While in the Marines, he was a Golden Glove Boxer and welterweight boxing champion during the Korean War. Charles worked for the USPS for over 30 years, and was a security guard for over 20 years with Weiser Security. He worked his whole life, retiring from his security job at age 79. In his free time, Charles loved fishing, hunting, playing golf, and having fun. He will be missed by his children, Mary E. Mansur, Charles Andrew Mansur, Jr., Michael Mansur and his wife Katherine, and John Mansur and his wife Mary L.; grandchildren, Michelle, Ashley, Micah, Brittany, Zack, Summer, Danielle, Joseph and Britany; 13 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Joseph Wright Sr.; and siblings, Woodrow Mansur Sr., Elizabeth M. Ginn and Nora Lee Payne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bolos and Rosa Mansur; daughter, Misty Wright; and brothers, Bolos Mansur, Jr. and Thomas Mansur. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home Sunday, August 9th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm; and Monday, August 10th from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers are his daughter, Mary E. Mansur, Micah Charles Mansur, Herbie Ginn, Jonathan Ginn, Timmy Ginn, Todd Terrell, and Joseph Wright, Jr.
