Charles Sanders Sims Sr. "Sandy," 73, a resident of Osyka, MS, went to be with the Lord in his home, Thursday, September 17, 2026. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and Wednesday 9:00am until funeral service at 11:00am. Upon completion of service, Sandy will be brought to Osyka, MS for graveside service at 1:30pm, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife. Sandy was born December 6, 1952, to Edward Earl and Mary Iona Forbes Sims. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of forty-four years, Dinah Lee Ott Sims — his high school sweetheart, soulmate, and very best friend. He is survived by his two children, Alluwee "Alli" and her husband Dave Roberts of Baton Rouge, LA, and Charles Sanders Sims Jr. "Little Sandy" and his wife Meagan of Osyka, MS. His sister Donna Sims and his brother Ed Sims and his wife Aimee. His sisters-in-law Sally and her husband Dudley Lampton of Brookhaven, MS, Gina and her husband Jay Alvaro of Austin, TX, and Kayla Blackwell of Gonzales, LA. Grandchildren Allegra Theodora Forstmann, Culver Vail Sims, Isabel Grace Roberts, and Truett Anderson Sims, as well as many nieces and nephews. Sandy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was centered around family and the people he loved. The family he and Dinah built was his greatest accomplishment. He was a man who left an impression on those around him, a strong presence that would not stall in any situation. He had his code as a man and did not stray from it. Sandy graduated from Broadmoor High School, where he met Dinah Lee. He was an entrepreneur his whole life — he could take little of nothing and make it great. He founded Aardvark, later ran the Sno Biz territory for Mississippi and Louisiana, and went on to multiple construction projects and investment properties. He loved to hunt, to fish, and to be outside enjoying God's creation, especially squirrel hunting with his brother Ed and their father, Earl. Sandy and Dinah shared a love that began when they were young and grew through a lifetime together. The years after Dinah's passing were filled with a vast void, and the days were never the same. He will be remembered through the time he spent, the stories he told, the songs he sang, the laughter he shared, and the love he had. We will miss our Daddy and Big Poppa in everything we do for the rest of our lives but rejoice in knowing that he is home with the Lord and the love of his life, our beautiful Dinah Lee.
