
"Rise up in splendor! Your light has come, the Glory of the Lord shines upon you." Isaiah 60:1. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she left to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 24, 2010, surrounded by her family at home in Baton Rouge. She was 72 and a native of Baton Rouge. She has left blessed her husband of 55 years, Gilbert Ardoin. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Vita Pocorello; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Bridget Ardoin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Gary Elliott, Anne and T.K. Devall, and Lori and Darron Messina; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Michelli Pocorello; and father, Charles "Pokie" Pocorello. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Charles "Noonie" Pocorello, Mickey Pocorello and Anthony Pocorello; and grandsons, Josh Ardoin, Matthew Ardoin, Sean Cullen, Rob Elliott and Dominic Messina. Charlotte was a devoted member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and active in many ministries, including being Mrs. Tag-a-long in Kingdom Klowns. She loved people, laughter and music. She enjoyed cooking her great Italian food and ensuring that her family was always well fed. She was well known for her hospitality and zest for life. Her family would like to extend their appreciation to the fourth-floor cardiology unit at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Amedisys Hospice and the firefighters at Station 5. A wake will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Tuesday, July 27, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Wake at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 28, from 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
