"Charlotte Ferguson Murrell was born on September 13, 1964 in Natchez, MS and was a resident of Sunshine, LA. She passed away on October 23, 2018 in her home surrounded by family. Charlotte is survived by her husband of 30 years George Abaunza Murrell, her son Derbigny Denis Murrell II, her two daughters Susanna Stewart Murrell and Mae Amanda Murrell, parents Edna and Pap Ferguson, sister Susanne Avondet and husband Kevin, sister Amanda Jeansonne and husband Benny, and brother Jim Ferguson and wife Stephanie. She attended Louisiana State University and Ole Miss Nursing School where she went on to be a pediatric nurse. She was also a volunteer in the Baton Rouge community including Junior League, St. James Martha's Guild, St. James Church Gumbo Chair, Episcopal Parent's Guild President and Episcopal Annual Fund Chair. The visitation will be at St. James Episcopal Church, 205 North 4th Street Baton Rouge, Friday October 26th from 9-11 am with a service following celebrated by Father Ralph Howe. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Baton Rouge General Pennington Cancer Center or Episcopal High School of Baton Rouge.
